Our History
The story of Leicester Charnwood Lions Club since 1974.
Leicester Charnwood Lions Club was established in 1974 and has been proudly serving the communities of Leicester and Charnwood for over 50 years.
We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission under number 1203188.
As part of Lions Clubs International — the world’s largest service club organisation — we belong to District 105A within Multiple District 105 (British Isles and Ireland). Lions Clubs International represents more than 1.3 million members across over 202 countries worldwide.
Our 37 members come from all walks of life, united by the Lions motto: “We Serve”. Over the decades, we have organised countless community events, raised substantial funds for local and international causes, and provided direct support to those in need.
From our early years through to our golden jubilee celebrations in 2024, Leicester Charnwood Lions has remained committed to the principles of service, fellowship and community.
