President’s Message
Dear Fellow Lions and the Lions Family
I am truly honored serve as the 53rd President of Leicester Charnwood Lions Club. I joined the club three years ago in the year 2023. I am grateful to Lion Maz Mashru for inspiring me to join this prestigious club. My Thanks to the club’s Senior Board Members for recognizing my potential and giving me opportunity to become the president.
My awareness of Lions Clubs charitable work and serving community has been since I was in India. I did voluntary work during natural disasters and helped in eye camps organized by Jetpur City Lions Club in India.
I am married to an incredibly supportive wife, Hasmita. I have a son and two beautiful grandsons. I am one of the seven siblings with a wonderful extended family.
Since joining Leicester Charnwood Lions Club, I have enjoyed taking active parts in various activities. Myself with my wife help serving free meals on a specific day each week with Helping Hands Sewa Group, which is supported by our club. The other activity with HHS is being a part of team organizing Coach Trips that include elderly and vulnerable passengers.
Our club has good track record of fund raising for worthwhile causes locally and internationally. My aim is to do Fundraising through charity walk, musical events and social programs. During my presidential year, I will continue supporting our fundraising and other activities that our club has been organizing each year.
I intend to lead from front by adhering to Lions Code of ethics and Lions International Purposes. My chosen charities would be British Heart Foundation, Diabetic Centre in Local Hospitals and Loros.
I intend to add new activities such as organizing Coach Trip by our club and other fundraising events. I am hoping my success would be achieved through working alongside our great team of Board Members and individual committees. Out Lions motto is ‘We Serve’ and surely ‘Together We Can.’
